Job Description: 

 

Summary
Responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of products and/or supplies in assigned
storeroom(s). Receives and processes inbound and outbound shipments, uses equipment to unload or
move materials, maintains and tracks inventory, and performs cycle counts regularly. Utilizes handheld
RF inventory scanners, Warehouse Management and/or Production Management systems daily during
the execution of duties. Serves as the primary point of contact with customers, vendors and suppliers and
provides excellent and timely customer service.

 


Essential Functions
This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict
the tasks that may be assigned.
• Inventory oversight
• Receives, counts, inspects, and verifies quantities of incoming materials against purchase
orders, invoices or bills of lading (BOL).
• Operates stand up and sit down forklift to pick, store, load and unload materials.
• Prepares necessary paperwork to process “rush” requests or “Special Orders” for
customers.
• Maintains storeroom inventories, completes cycle count and enters results into designated
system.
• Researches and applies root cause analysis for cycle count discrepancies.
• Processes outbound shipments including “transfer” orders to and from storeroom(s) as
well as return shipments.
• Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Monitors and rectifies issues for open purchase orders.
• Assists in the identification and correction of material specifications to eliminate duplicate
records and ensure data consistency.
• Manage Stockroom supplies to stay within established budget targets.
• Actively work to reduce and maintain obsolete inventory through proactive oversight and
coordination.
• Customer service
• Serves as the primary point of contact with customers, vendors and suppliers.
• Provides timely and efficient customer service.
• Responsible for ensuring customer packaging and delivery requirements are met.
• Resolves discrepancies in a timely manner and keeps customer consistently informed.
• Provides regular reports and updates to leadership and business partners.
• Software utilization and reporting
• Uses a WMS to dock assign, receive product into inventory, manage the accuracy of the
inventory and resolves discrepancies.
• Uses WMS and/or PMS to ship inventory to the customer and ensures delivery deadlines
are met, as well as create, issue and authorize bills of lading (BOL).
• Enters appropriate data into appropriate systems and devices when required.
• Research and identify information pertaining to Storeroom Inventory.
• Responsible for accurate and timely data entry.
• General Duties
• Inspects and measures tools/equipment for defects, wear and tear and reports damage or
wear to supervisors.
• Perform clerical duties such as labelling bins, recording and filing
• Supports and practices all established safety programs and policies.
• Follows and practices all established Standard Operating Procedures.
• Prepare kits or pre-stage materials for work orders to improve flow and reduce downtime
in production or maintenance.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Uses company resources in a cost-effective manner.
• Completes special projects/assignments as required by the Team Leader and Manager.
• Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and
safety regulatory consideration.

 


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of warehouse,
storeroom, material handling, production or customer service experience in a Manufacturing or
Warehouse environment; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3
years of G3 warehouse, storeroom, material handling, production or customer service experience.
• Current forklift certification for sit down and stand up or ability to obtain within first 30 days of hire.
• Intermediate skill set in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
• Proficient computer capabilities with skill to navigate, enter and extrapolate data from various
inventory related software.
• Required to navigate ladders.
• Required to lift 50 pounds.
• Skilled in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly work area.
• Skilled in understanding instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to work weekends, rotating shift and overtime if needed.
• Experience in working directly with customers and resolving complaints and offering solutions.
• Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable,
as listed in this job description.

 


Preferred Qualifications
• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of material handling and
storeroom experience.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; OR ability to obtain a valid driver’s
license within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with handling various sizes of palletized product.
• Experience with using warehouse management systems (WMS) and/or production management
systems (PMS).
• Experience with inventory picking and staging, replenishing and cycle-counting.
• Basic understanding of Lean Principals (5S).
• Experience with multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with effectively communicating with managers, peers and customers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment where high quality standards
are expected to be met.
• Experience with using company resources in a cost-effective manner.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and required to
handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift

Compensation 

Hiring Hourly Rate: $22.45 - $26.39

Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
